The Learning Assembly will be hosted at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019. Learning and Development professionals will have the opportunity to explore key insights from dynamic speakers from a variety of industries. 

Scott Jeffrey Miller

Executive Vice President of Thought Leadership, FranklinCovey

Entering his twenty-third year with FranklinCovey, Scott Miller serves as the executive vice president of thought leadership. He is the host of the FranklinCovey-sponsored On Leadership With Scott Miller, a weekly leadership webcast, podcast, and newsletter that features interviews with renowned business titans, authors, and thought leaders and is distributed to more than five million business leaders worldwide. He is also the host of the weekly radio program Great Life, Great Career With Scott Miller on iHeart Media’s KNRS 105.9.

In his previous roles as executive vice president of business development and chief marketing officer, Scott led the global transformation of FranklinCovey’s brand. Prior to that, as general manager of client facilitation services, Miller worked with thousands of clients and client facilitators in numerous markets in over thirty countries. He has presented to hundreds of audiences across every industry, and loves to share his unique journey as an unfiltered leader thriving in today’s highly filtered corporate culture.

Servola is an Executive Director John Maxwell Team Member as a life and business coach, leadership trainer, and motivational speaker. Servola holds her BA in Business & Project Management and MS in Executive Leadership. Servola mentors the next generation of leaders and has a passion for Leadership, Training & Development. She is the owner of Motivate Enterprises, LLC a premier training and development firm.

Servola is an empty nester and proud mother of three adult children, George, Charles, and Daniella. She and her husband George enjoy traveling, date nights, and exploring new activities together.

Dr. Michael Preston

Executive Director of the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities, UCF

Dr. Michael Preston has served as Executive Director of the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities since July 2015 where he works with The University of Central Florida, The University of South Florida, and Florida International University on collaborative projects designed to increase retention, improve graduation rates, and ensure graduates are career ready. Previous to taking on this unique role, Dr. Preston served the students of The University of Central Florida since 2011 as the Director of the Office of Student Involvement where he oversaw a comprehensive involvement program including entertainment programming, student organizations, volunteer and service programs, and student government.

Dr. Preston has worked in higher education for nearly 20 years and is commonly asked to speak and present on topics such as student affairs assessment, personal career development, student engagement practices, and developing student leadership competencies. In addition to his work in student affairs at UCF, Dr. Preston is also a faculty member in the Higher Education and Policy Studies department where he teaches on the subject of Organization and Administration in Higher Education.

Dave Russell

President, SAK Theatre Co.

David Russell is the President of SAK Theater Co., an entertainment company in Orlando Florida and served as Artistic Director and Managing Director the SAK Comedy Lab, a 200- seat comedy improv theater in Downtown Orlando from 2002-2012. David serves as Host, Emcee and Presenter for various clients including Florida Hospital (now AdventHealth), AFP (Association of Financial Proffesionals), AEMP (Association of Equipment Management Professionals), LEAD Brevard, Hospice of the Comforter, Fusion Fest Orlando, and many others. David Russell is also a Vision Coach as founder and CEO of the Quantum Vision. David is author of the book “Impossible is NOT a Word,” which introduces a personal and professional development program he created and developed called the Quantum Vision.
